Fictionthis.com is an innovative open project promoting the creativity in every one of its participant.

The website was developed in Suburban Melbourne, Australia in the late 2006 by a few but very loyal supporters of creative writing. Our mission is to provide great opportunity and environment to succeed in the ancient art of writing by providing you with a chance to publish your creations on line and at the same time to be voted on. We pride ourselves at the ability to provide great service and complete freedom of choice for you, our users. At Fictionthis.com you write, rate and rule. We stand for Freedom of choice, freedom of thought and freedom of will. Let your mind be your limitation for there will be no limitation from us.

Websix Pty Ltd is a company standing behind the creation of Fictionthis.com and at this stage we are working very hard to bring our members more options and more flexibility. For our moto is simple we will create what you desire, for desire is one's creation.

Not so fiction, FAQs

1. How are the paragraphs judged?

All submissions are judged by you, the registered users of fictionthis.com. You have 24 hours to submit your new fictions. Once the submission time is up, you'll have another 24 hours for voting.

2. Who is "the Judge"?

The Judge is the writer whose paragraph was successfully selected as the continuation to the story.

3. What will happen with all the paragraphs that haven't been chosen?

We will collect and keep all your brilliant submissions for possible use in the future. Don't worry, we'll keep you informed of anything we get up to.

4. What's in it for me?

Besides fame, glory and a warm fuzzy feeling inside? What more could you possibly want?

5. Can our submissions be amended?

For the sake of grammar, readability and style we may make some minor amendments. We will aim to keep as much of your original work as possible.

6. My account is not registering, what can I do?

Given possible delays with email servers, it may take anywhere up to 24 hours to receive your registration email. We realise that this delay may cause you to miss a cycle of submission or voting, but unfortunatly there is nothing we can do. Figuring out a brlliant and cunning way to control all the cyber data and speeds around the world is next on our to do list.

7. How does my submission make it to the Read It page?

Once the submission time has passed, all submissions will be open for voting.

8. How long is the submission/ voting cycle?

The total cycle is 48 hours; with 24 hours allowed for submissions and another 24 hours for voting.

9. How many times can I submit per cycle?

We realise that there is no end to Fictionists' creativity and enthusiasm, we can go on and on all night long . Therefore, you can submit as many times as you want; and as many times as your fingertips allow.

10. Can I edit my vote?

No, you can't the vote is final, so take care to vote for the correct submission.

11. How long will the book be?

Ideally, we'd like the first book to be finished in a year. However, these matters of the heart often take us on new paths... so basically, the book will be as long as it needs to be to be a great story.

12. Can I come up with the names for the chapters?

Once chapters are completed, we will be open for suggestions. Selection of Chapter Names will also be voted on.

13. When does another book start?

Even as you read this, your trusty Fiction This team are working hard to develop other books - different genres, different languages. As always, we'll keep you in the loop of any updates.

14. Can I quote other famous writers?

You can quote other writers (even not so famous) but only in the context of actually quoting them. Please make sure to include suitable quote style (talking marks, italics or new paragraph, etc) as well as full name, and title and date of quote, if available.

15. When will the book be published, and can I get a copy?

We're aiming to finish the book by about the middle of 2009, to be published right after that. We'll release it for sale as soon as possible.
